The last time there was an intolerable president in office (his name was Richard Nixon, perhaps you recall him), I researched what it would take to impeach him. I believe it is time for me to review that material. ---

Note, I didn’t like either major party candidate and voted for Johnson. Get out. Go somewhere with lots of people. Talk to them, if politics comes up, gently change the subject. Pay attention to the nice things people do for one another, no matter how small. Then realize that roughly half of the people you meet who are kind, competent, caring or generally good people voted for Trump. And if you run across an ass, remember there is roughly a fifty percent chance that person voted for Clinton. If you know or see someone on need, help as you can. But some food for a homeless shelter. Give a gift to a halfway house. Volunteer at a food bank. Help the little old lady down the street clean her yard. Be what you want others to be instead of judging them. And, if you start freaking out say the Serenity Prayer, as it is good advice even if you are an atheist, just substitute something else for god. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can’t change The courage to change the things I can And the wisdom to know the difference Slee, an athiest ---

This morning a Trump supporter I work with said something along the lines of “well, Hillary can get some much needed rest now” as a dig. That’s when I realized I don’t care about Hillary as much as I care about what will happen to the environment, and climate change, all the issues I was voting for as a democrat. The issues are still there today and I’ll continue to fight for them, volunteering my time and donating money. Me: white middle class female Bernie Bro who voted for Hillary. But yeah, a self imposed 4 year media blackout sounds good to me. Just hoping we don’t get any nasty surprises that can’t be ignored. ---

Well, reading the front section of this a.m.'s Trib sure went quickly, since I skipped anything political. Even a couple of my fave commentators - Garrison Keillor and Eric Zorn. Only 2 days, but I’m comfortable with political apathy and ignorance. And, only 1 day in a row, but yesterday I did my sit-ups and push-ups, and dug out the x-mas music for piano. Today, a nice long bike ride… ---

Mindful of what a Trump administration will mean for the environment, last night I went online and donated money to wildlife conservation organizations. I will do the same on inauguration day.
