This doesn’t happen from what I’ve seen of right-wing communities. The closest they come is complaints about so-called crony capitalism, which is blamed on the government, or on reactionary sites you get Jewish conspiracy theories about Wall St. and Hollywood.
I offered it in jest because liberals/conservatives (capitalists) almost always love him, while socialists detest him and derisively call him Rocket Jesus.
You’re wrong, though it’s not a lot. I’ve thought about making a lefty poll here, but I’m not sure which choices to offer because there’s so many tendencies, e.g. M-Ls, anarchists, anarcho-communists, libertarian socialists, ultras, syndicalists, third worldists, and more – darned splitters.
If it helps with your “research” - I consider myself a democratic socialist, in that I think there are some things that capitalism demonstrably does better. Seriously, have you seen the cars the Soviet Union produced? And SpaceX, since we’re talking about Musk, has demonstrated why space travel should have left the government domain a long time ago. 1/10th the cost for 10 times the capability, and they’re just getting started.
On the other hand, there are things that I think are non-negotiable when it comes to socialism. We should care for the elderly and disabled, and provide some support for people who are unemployed. And there are things that socialism demonstrably does better - healthcare for example. A profit motive in that industry is simply perverse and counterproductive. You cannot simultaneously have both the #1 priority of making profit, and also the #1 priority of providing the best healthcare possible.
I’d note that If technology advances a bit more, my political stance would change as well. If we develop Star-Trek style replicators that can produce food, clothing, medicine, and any other type of goods from raw feedstock and/or trash fed into the machine and broken down to its component molecules, and we start harvesting asteroids so we effectively have unlimited resources, then I’d probably support full-on socialism / post-scarcity resource-based economy, since capitalism would no longer serve any useful purpose.
