While Franklin was talking about money, taxes, self governance and the frontier, it seems quite applicable in a more simplified form here. I think environmental degradation is a greater threat to public safety than sporadic political violence, let alone whatever sporadic portion of ideological violence is from radicalized Sunni Muslims. I guess I’d feel differently if I lived in Syria or Iraq. Still, you should oppose Republicans just because they think your financial advisor should be allowed to rip you off. ---

Can someone please remind me again why I should be more concerned about a yearly average of twenty or so US citizens killed in domestic terrorist attacks than thirty or forty thousand each killed by vehicle accidents and firearms? ---

The groups are small, and most the violence petty, but multiple deadly attacks against people in the name of defending against a non-existent white genocide have let most western nations to designate significant amounts of money to measures attempting to prevent white teenage boys and girls from being radicalised and to investigate and run surveillance on the ones that are already dangerous fuckers. ---

A common refrain is that American foreign policy is about bombing “brown people.” I don’t think it’s supposed to be taken literally as much as a comment on otherness, and many Middle Easterners could be described as brown, but a lot of them are pretty pale looking too, or a bit swarthy at most, like a white person with a tan. The ME and South Asia certainly have a lot of different ethnic groups.
