Hey, try living in Hawaii. We never know if/when a new show is coming on, especially for the cable channels and the WB & UPN (We have one station that does a little of both plus local sports). Some channels show stuff simultaneously with the west coast (i.e., a show at 10 p.m. there is shown at 7 p.m.), some channels at the same time they’re supposed to be on the west coast (a show at 10 p.m. there is on at 10 p.m. here), some simultaenously with the east coast.
I lived in Washington State for a while, and couldn’t get over the predictability of TV. (and the day really did last longer there, with the news at 11!)
Oh, my, that takes me back!
I worked on the base in Sasebo for a week in '86, *Mama Tiger, and you’re right-it was on all the time!!! Maybe if that’s all you get to see, you get hooked on it, nut it grove me nuts. Fortunately, I was single and there were lots of people willing to entertain me, so it wasn’t too bad.
And after 10 years in the Central Zone, I’m now on the West Coast and hate having to wait until 8:00 for Survivor. It’s the only Prime-Time show I watch, since I get up at 3:00, and Thursday nights are a huge pain in the ass because of it!
Good point. Thinking about it, not only do I live in Eastern Time now, but I lived in Central Time mostly as a student/slacker (for zillions of years) and had a schedule that reflected that. I work now in Eastern Time, and have necessarily turned into an early morning person, which probably has more to do with my lack of late-night viewing that anything.
But still, I wish I didn’t have to wait until 1 pm for football!
I lived in Central most of my life, then moved out to California. Man, what bliss. I’ll give everybody who wants it Eastern if I can just have Cali time back.
