Does anyone have any actual data on the viability of the industry if we get a pandemic with much higher mortality? I’m really not sure how exposed they are to complete failure of actuarial models. I don’t know to what extent an increase in death-related payouts would be offset by a reduction in payouts for lifetime annuities.
