Lights dim when blow-dryer is turned on

How modern? None of the homes I’ve lived in had the lights on a separate circuit. ISTR the circuits were always done room by room, more or less. (Could be that none of the homes were wired recently enough that you would consider it to be “modern”.)

My home built in 1976. 100 amp main. All the lights and outlets run through light switchs are on 15 amp circuits. All the outlets are on 20 amp circuits.

Any remodel work all 12 gauge wire and any added breakers are 20 amp.
