No. Jeeves would have stepped up behind Bertie on the pretense of brushing a spot of lint from his collar, and deftly stepped in such a way as to remove the offensive bathroom tissue scrap without embarrassing the delicate Bertie. It’s a year old, but this [piece](https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2018/04/donald-trump-wide-leg-pants-growing) from Vanity Fair talks about Trump’s ill-fitting trousers. It’s mostly about how the width is wrong rather than the length (so that his pants legs have “roughly the circumference of a healthy toddler’s head”) but it suggests some reasons. It includes a quote from his book “Trump: Think Like a Billionaire” in which he (or the ghostwriter) wrote, “I wear Brioni suits, which I buy off the rack.” Checking the [website](https://www.brioni.com/us/men/suits-jackets), these suits cost $4-7,000 and if you can afford to spend that much, surely you can afford the tailoring. My guess as to the reason he _doesn’t_ have his suits tailored is that would require him to be measured and he’s too vain to allow that. ---

Hell, Men’s Wearhouse will tailor your suit as part of the price (I think, or it’s cheap at any rate). ---

The picture with that link also shows the trouser legs bunched up around his feet like the fancy draperies in a lady’s boudoir. I’m guessing he doesn’t have alterations done not just because he doesn’t want to be measured but because some tailor would almost certainly sell the info or just publish it for the heck of it. Then the whole world would know his measurements and whether he dresses left or right (I’m guessing neither, as the diminutive size of his member doesn’t require him to choose). The solution (and I’m surprised he hasn’t thought of this) is to [del]buy[/del] kidnap some immigrant child (preferably a deaf mute), have him trained as a tailor, and then keep him chained up in his closet away from any electronic communication devices. Employment for the kid and privacy for The Donald. Win-win! ---

First, he’s not doing them any favors by dropping their name because, if in fact they are what he claims they are, they look incredibly cheap. A suit at that price should not crease like a cheap paper sack. Second, [off the rack Brioni slacks](https://www.brioni.com/us/shop-product/men/trousers_cod49241088md.html) come with a 7.8" tapered hem. Which is on the modern side of the spectrum for a men’s suit. I wear mine tapered between 7" and “7.25”. So 7.8" isn’t going to look like a pair of clown palazzo pants like Frump wears. ---

They are cheap [Brioni knock-offs from Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Brioni-New-Black-Suit-40/dp/B06W5XMPKQ/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=brioni+suit&qid=1558987591&s=gateway&sr=8-2). Inseam 37", width at Hem=8.5". Hem it to 32" inseam and it’s closer to 9.5". ---
