Ed was also on WBEZ and CBC Radio 1 in the last week but I don’t think those were archived anywhere. > **[So Long to the Straight Dope: Witty Q&A Column Calls It Quits](https://news.wttw.com/2018/07/10/so-long-straight-dope-witty-qa-column-calls-it-quits)** > > After nearly half a century of answering questions ranging from the trivial to the technical to the taboo, the Chicago Reader’s informative and irreverent weekly column has ended. ---

That was interesting. Thanks for sharing. It was nice to finally have a face and voice for Ed. ---

That reminds me, did we ever get an answer about the ‘piss shiver’? ETA: That is not how I pictured Ed, at all. ---

Glad to see Mr. Zotti with his head held up high, even though you can clearly see the ravashes that four decades under Cecil’s unyielding lash have wrought, and it was spooky when he involuntarily flinched each time Cecil’s name was spoken. And I eagerly await his tell-all book, _Forty Years a Scribe: The Untold Tale of Life Under Cecil Adams, the Lake Michigan Monster_, although for some reason this book isn’t available for pre-order on Amazon yet. ---
