I have listened to Rush, on occasion. The saddest part is, once you get past the “glamor of the sort of famous radio guy” facade, there is precious little substance there. He is simply playing up to a specific audience, and deliberately so. He gets paid for this. It’s a job. He is not some expert or guru. He really has no message, except “conservative good liberal bad”. He also has a nasty habit of not letting the facts get in the way. ---

It is the yelling that makes it hard to listen to the righties. They ask for phone calls then scream over the caller ,insulting and name calling. That gets old in a hurry. I woekrd next to a guy who listen to Rush every day. I served my time. ---

To expand: Limbaugh is a slimeball and a heartless creep. He is also, to some degree, a victim. Very white, very straight people are easy marks for pharmaceutical addiction. They don’t see it. Remember George Carlins bit about drug stores, with the big neon signs that blinks off and on saying “DRUGS!” Cigarettes, cosmetics, maganzines, sundries DRUGS! They think drugs are used by shifty, dirty people in colorful clothes. Its not drugs if it comes in a brown plastic bottle with a prescription pasted on it. Its medicine. ---
