# Limiting Searches and Old Threads

I like the idea of limiting searches; less hits on the DB=less load on the server, and a search does tax resources.

And BTW, I understand a nostalgic reason to save old threads, but as has been pointed out, any Doper can archive threads by simply saving them.

If YOU like a thread, by all means save it on your own HD, maybe someday we can all contribute our own fav threads to an archive, but I think it’s rediculous for anybody to bump old threads because they think they are cool.

THis is not meant to say any recently bumped threads are crap, just that let’s save them ourselves, and take a load off the SDMB.

That would be people bumping old threads because the threads are cool, not a hit at the people…
