**Harlan Ellison** once wrote an article in which he used the term _midget_. Among the onslaught of letters he received following publication of the article was one from an individual who admonished him:

Dear Mr. Ellison: I stand 4’ 5" tall. I resent being called a midget. I prefer being called a “little person”.

To which Ellison replied: Dear Mr. \_\_, I, myself, stand 5’ 3" tall. \*\*\*I \*\* \* am a little person. _ **You** _,sir, are a midget.
