Limits of ultra-petiteness

Harlan Ellison once wrote an article in which he used the term midget. Among the onslaught of letters he received following publication of the article was one from an individual who admonished him:

Dear Mr. Ellison: I stand 4’ 5" tall. I resent being called a midget. I prefer being called a “little person”.

To which Ellison replied: Dear Mr. __, I, myself, stand 5’ 3" tall. ***I ** * am a little person. You,sir, are a midget.
