It was brought to my attention via PM that in my [response](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=13632893&postcount=152)to [this post](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=13632802&postcount=149), I am hijacking the thread (about trashy behavior, go figure).
I don’t have time for an actual Pitting, what with having to waddle my fat self through the trash and into the other room to feed my screaming kids, but this is the place for disagreements with other posters, so I’m putting it here.
**lindsaybluth** , please demonstrate where I have said that I allow my children to scream in public.

Okay, I just tried to search for “lorene” and “scream” and got just one thread (the one linked to), but then later when I did “lorene” and “kids” I saw thread she wasn’t even a part of that just had the word “kids” in it. What am I doing wrong? Do you have to do Word1 + Word 2?

Your claim doesn’t seem too likely to me, based on [the statements in this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=596252) about throwing water on an unruly child, especially **lorene** ’s posts, which seem to applaud the water thrower and express no sympathy for the parents of the wild child:

Well, I did just use Google to try to find this mysterious “ **lorene** lets her kids scream for fun and profit” post, and after five minutes, which is the absolute maximum I am willing to spend on this crap, I didn’t turn anything up. Now waiting anxiously to find out whether this will turn out to be “ **lindsay** was totally thinking of another poster,” “ **lindsay** was totally making shit up,” or “ **lindsay** slinks out of the thread hoping everyone will forget about it”.
If it’s going to turn into “ **lindsay** pulls a **freakfreely** -style flameout,” though, can you wait until Friday? Because I don’t have anything scheduled on Friday so that would really work better for my schedule.

Me too, with the same result. Except that I’ve now read quite a few posts about **lorene** ’s parenting style and she seems like a good and sensible mom to me.

Now, I could be wrong, but it seems like a match to me, and she’s got the wrong person. I’d like to know for sure but I doubt she’ll come by this thread.
FTR, I find her intensely sanctimonious and smug, and inordinately proud of her actually quite boring and mundane family. I also think that, while is nothing wrong with using the descriptor ‘obese’ when appropriate, her mentioning it \*twice \*was just meant as an insult, clearly because obese people are automatically trashy in her mind. None the less, I would apologize if it does turn out that I’m on the wrong track.

I can’t tell if you’re impressed or disappointed.

I used irony incorrectly. I apologize.
I felt that it was humorous that she mentioned a part of town where “people fancy themselves better than others” and then went on to use words like _obese_ and _Medicaid trainwreck_ as descriptors that did not add anything to the story.
