So, I was just listening to some Bowling For Soup, and the following line made me grin in particular in a song full of grins. From their song _1985_ : “Springsting, Madonna, way before Nirvana there was U2, and Blondie, and music still on MTV…” 😃 Similarly, in _Ohio (Come Back To Texas)_, there is this gem at the end of the song, after a very long list of reasons why his ex girlfriend should come back to Texas: “Besides the Mexican food sucks North of here anyways…” 🆒 So, any grinner lines from songs you’ve listened to? ---

Most lines in Dead Milkmen songs are designed to amuse, but I always thought this line from “The Blues Song” was pretty awesome: _The blues is a way for white kids to feel That they understand the feelings of black people Without ever having to meet any of them_ ETA: Nice “simulpost” **control-z** 🙂 ---

My favorite is something I’ve mentioned recently on the boards - “God is good. God is great. God’s a big invertebrate.” _The Microorganism_, Boiled in Lead If we’re leaving aside Weird Al, I’m also going to suggest we leave Tom Lehrer out, too. Gilbert & Sullivan have a good number of zinger lines, too. “I sink a few more ships, it’s true, than a well-bred monarch ought to do. But many a king on a first-class throne, if he wants to call his crown his own, must manage somehow to get through more dirty work than ever **I’ll** do!” -_For He Is a Pirate King_, from _The Pirates of Penzance_. The whole of the Mikado’s _Let the Punishment Fit the Crime_ from that same operetta is also good. ---
