Oh, and **Lobsang** , you’re thinking of Tools \> Folder Options \> _Open Folders in a New Window_ in Explorer, the thing you use to browse your harddrive. ---

**Q.E.D.** on my computer (XP) there is an option specifically for IE regarding the opening of new windows in a new process…I think… Now that you mention it I am not so sure. Sometimes I can have like 10 windows open. If one crashes, and then I close it, they all close! (because they are all using the same process) If I could get them all to open in a seperate process only the one that crashed would close. ---

Go to Control Panel \> Add/Remove Programs. Scroll down to Internet Explorer and click it once. Then click the button to Repair the Current Installation (not available in Windows 98SE). ---

Also make sure internet Explorer is your default browser. You do that in Tools \> Internet Options \> Programs tab. Click the relevant checkbox. ---

**Askia** you say ‘posted links’. Is this only happening on links within the SDMB? or is it everywhere? Go to a different site, hold shift and click a link. ---

**Q.E.D.** – it was already checked. I only ever use IE. I must have Win98Se since that option wasn’t there in Control Panel. **Lobsang** – It’s not just SDMB. I tried holding the shift key + mouse on my college’s alumni website, too. ---
