[/QUOTE] As far as this is concerned, you’re comparing two entirely different mediums that, in fact, complement each other very well. (Or, for that matter, playing GoW and Asteroids on a 360. Vast difference, both fun.) The guys doing radio play-by-play and color are generally much better than their Tv counterparts. They don’t have the visual aspect, nor the shiny, flashing graphics and logos. They need to be good enough to accurately portray what is happening in a way that allows the person to visualize what is going on. But no matter how good they are, you still can’t beat showing the action. And showing it in HD? Seems to be comparable to listening to a transistor radio and 7.2 surround. The best thing to do if at all possible is try to sync the radio broadcast to the TV broadcast and mute the TV. I would say it rivals listening to the radio broadcast while at the stadium. ---

[/QUOTE] You’re right. My husband installs HD systems in sports bars. He hates sports so it’s particularly grueling for him, but he does a good job. I hate most sports too, but there really is an incredible difference. You can clearly see the texture of the grass, or the player’s uniforms. If someone doesn’t SEE the difference then they’re probably looking at a bad installation/setup. _Something’s_ wrong, because there is a specific, very visible, difference between regular TV and HDTV. It would be like not being able to tell the difference between black&white and color, it’s that pronounced. Whether sports “deserve” HD is not for me (or anyone else) to say. Lots of things get shown on HD that other people aren’t interested in. Personally, I’d like to see more skating, one of the few sports I like, in HD. All of the awards shows, but especially the Oscars (which are now), should always be shown in HD. The designers, if not the actresses with bad makeup artists, should demand it. ---
