Time elapsed starts from first date. Only count those that you tried to pursue an exclusive romantic relationship with, not mere flings, FWB’s, or hookups. However, if you “upgraded” from friends, FWB, fling, or hookup, to an exclusive romantic relationship, count the time elapsed from the day you two upgraded and started seriously dating (not from the beginning of when you knew each other). Again, this is for past relationships that have already ended in your life. Do not mention your current relationship. Mention relationships that you were serious about at least at one point and in which you exclusively dated for some amount of time, and note the elapsed time between first date and breakup. If it was a breakup/makeup/breakup situation, note the time elapsed between first date and the LAST breakup. Also, mention your age. ---

Well, I’ve not yet had one. (Hey, Barney Frank was 65 when he found his mate, so I haven’t given up hope). I’m 58, so closing in on that. ---

A couple that lasted 3 weeks, a few that lasted 3 months (3 or 4). 2 that lasted about 9-12 months (I _still_ really miss those girls and wonder what it could have been!). One that lasted 6 months (don’t miss her at all!). One that lasted ~7 years. Don’t miss her either, though I still feel sad about the whole thing. I am 45. ---

Four serious, but now ended, relationships in my life: 1. 18 months (as per the OP’s notes, this includes a three-month hiatus in the middle) 2. 24 months (includes a 7-month breakup after dating exclusively for one month; we then dated for another 16 months once we got back together) 3. 5 months 4. 6 months I’m still very close friends with #2 and #4. I’m 50. ---

@6 months when I was 13-14 @6 months when I was 14 Do those count? @1 year when I was 17-18 @5+ years from 18-23 - married 4 of them but deduct a year and a half for the separation @2-3 years of an off/on relationship @6 months @6 months @7 years from 29-36 @2+ years from 37-39 @9+ years from 49-58 I’m 58 ---

1st marriage lasted 5 years. This was about 4 and 1/2 years longer than I wanted it to last. I stayed out of guilt. 2nd one lasted about 3 years. He was killed 6 months after we married. 3rd one is ongoing for 30 years now. Not much passion left, sadly. It was mostly good for about 24 years though. Now we’re just friends who are married. I’m 59 and don’t expect to have another one. ---

2005-2008 / ~4 years 2010-2012 / ~2 years (marriage – divorce) July 2014 - February 2015 / 7 months, and 2 weeks Last month - Present, but I think we’re broken up and not even sure if I could count this one. I am counting it anyways. 26 y.o. ---

First one, about a year (then she decided to move to NY). We stayed friends especially after I moved to NY, but there was no more passion there. Second one, about half a year. She broke up with me. Third one, nearly 52 years and counting and it is still good. I’m 78. ---
