I came across this website about 5 years ago, and was shocked that MY theory about the blatant Communist propaganda known as the “Smurfs” was being passed off as someone else’s theory. OK, the acronym for SMURF they came up with is pretty damn clever, and I never considered Vanity as the opressed homosexual, but Papa wearing red? MINE. Brainy the “intellectual” being perpetually persecuted? MINE. (Though I admit, I never thought about a resemblence to Trotsky) In addition, I noted that the Smurfs all lived in identical houses, had near identical styles of dress and yet each had their place in Smurfian society. In German they are Die Schlumpfin (or something close to that), and the Croatian girl I worked with had a whole other name for them. Why the cultural secrecy? HMMMMM? \*to properly read this post, please make sure tongue is firmly implanted in cheek. ---
