Frank Sinatra. I mean, come _on_. Placido Domingo. Again: do I need an explanation? Drew Sarich: [“Somewhere” (from _West Side Story_) and _Hallelujah_ (Leonard Cohen)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De_Nih5G8Qw) [Heaven on Their Minds](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXaEafnklg4) and [Superstar](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYcOryjkJVE), from _Jesus Christ Superstar_ Special mention to yummy Gordon McRae and, believe it or not, Sting. I can’t claim Sting has a great technical voice, but it really _works_ for him, and he can really sell a song. Over the years I’ve become more and more impressed by how he manipulates his sound, using it like a jazz musician plays an instrument. Oddly I don’t have any favorite female singers, though I think Barbara Cook and Ann Wilson (from Heart) would be up there. ---
