The cadence of the bunny song in my head is reminding me of rope skipping rhymes. I never knew all the words to the bunny song. Now I’m trying to remember the rhyme about miss lucy had a baby. Great. Or is that a hand-clapping rhyme? bah I’m old ---

I taught my 3-year-old student “Bunny Foo Foo” and “Baby Bumblebee.” Him singing Bunny Foo Foo is possibly the cutest thing ON EARTH, because he does all the gestures perfectly, but he sings a garbled version of the lyrics that includes the line, “scoop a fee mice and bop a head!” His grandfather was dismayed at his love of the Baby Bumblebee song. The progression of the bumblebee is squished, licked up, barfed up, and cleaned up. ---

Yeah, the hand gestures are essential. I learned Little Rabbit Foo Foo at day camp. Never learned the Bumble Bee song until I was an adult, when my younger sister taught it to my toddling daughter. My daughter was delighted with the Bumble Bee song, and performed all the hand gestures perfectly. ---

Little Bunny Foo Foo was a popular subject for skits in the Scouts. My favorite one was where the number of people playing field mice kept increasing with each verse, and by the last verse there were more than a dozen. And my version of the worm song was: Nobody likes me Everybody hates me Guess I’ll go eat worms. Big fat squishy ones, little bitty scrawny ones but I forgot my spoon. Chop off their heads and squeeze out the tails and throw the rest away. Nobody knows how I survive on worms 3 times a day! ---
