> Parents can be awful like that. My father apparently had a lamb when he was young, treated it like a pet, not realizing that one day his parents would kill it for dinner and expect him to eat it. At age 79, he still won’t touch lamb.

That seems really, really insensitive on the part of the parents. I mean, during the siege of Leningrad, when people were literally starving, I’ve heard families traded pets…so no one would have to eat their own cat.

ETA: OTOH I’ve known 4H kids who raised livestock, and basically treated them as pets, but had no problem when said animals also provided good eating. So, you know, things raised as livestock vs. things raised as pets.

> And who regrets “ **not** fucking with the kids(sic) head”. This is a little kid! Plus, he has some kind of emotional problems. I can understand being startled by the situation, but being mean to him or making fun of him, even here, is bullshit.

Oh, puh lease. I was kidding about that.

And I’m not making fun of Liam, I was making fun of me and my "_some days you just can’t get rid of a bomb"_ situation. Lighten the hell up.

Well, I thought it was funny, both from the point of view of “don’t 1st Graders have weird ideas of the world/freak out at the damnedest things” _and_ “ **pkbites** can’t catch a break”. 😃

Well, you got your _goat_ cholesterol and your _bat_ cholesterol, and I tell you, bat-cheese is the damnedest stuff to make, what with having to milk all those bats, you betcha…
