What are the favorite movies of those 10 and unders you know? I know it changes every few days but what are the ones that continually stay high on the list?
My 5 year old niece’s favorite movie is **“Kiki’s Delivery Service.”** I suppose it’s got just the right amount of safety and adventure. Thirteen year old girl off on her own, a talking cat, she can fly and everybody’s nice to her.

For my 3 year old niece who is only now learning to speak, her favorite movie is **“The Emperor’s New Groove.”** She’s not really a verbal person so it’s all about the slapstick.

My three year old boy loves Lilo & Stitch and, oddly enough, Bambi. Actually just about anything “Disney”. The old Silly Symphonies get played over-and-over.

He’s just discovered the “Land Before Time” series and he would sit through all 9 episodes back-to-back (if we’d let him!).

My kids love The Emperor’s New Groove, also. (So do I.) Whenever they start getting on my nerves on long car trips, I suggest they “play” it. That means reciting favorite lines from memory, which they will happily do for an hour. The trouble is getting them to stop!

I have a young cousin who obsessively watches a movie called “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. It’s more of a pre-teen movie about a dance contest, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt.

My four-year-old daughter is a little strange (being my daughter after all). Sure, she likes anything animated by default. But her favorites also include:

- _The Quiet Man_
- _Singin’ In The Rain_
- _Young Frankenstein_
- _My Fair Lady_
- And my entire video collection of Gilbert & Sullivan operas. She sings the soprano arias to herself while using the bathroom. We call her “the Dumping Diva”.

I have a 2 year old and a 3 year old. Their favorite movie is Ice Age. It’s really the only movie that’s ever held their interest.

The acutally go around acting out scenes from the movie. It’s too cute.

My son was heavily into A Bug’s Life for quite a while. I must say that it definitely stands up to repeat viewings, even for adults.

He burned out on it though, and now that he’s a ripe old 4 1/2 yr old, there’s no one movie he’ll watch over and over. He does like any of the Peanuts movies and it wasn’t until I listened to them with a paranoid parent’s ear that I realized how much they call each other “stupid” and “blockhead” and treat each other like crap. Sigh.

Our three year old daughter has been hooked on The Wizard of Oz for the last few months. (No, neither the witch nor the winged monkeys bothered her a bit.) We found her a pair of ruby slippers online and she’s going to be Dorothy for Halloween.

Before that she watched Disney’s Cinderella quite regularly.

I used to babysit 2 young girls (kindergarden age), and they loved The Lion King, Beauty & The Beast, and Aladdin. I myself like some cartoon movies and don’t mind watching them, but a lot of the newer ones that have anything to do with Pokemon or Digimon, count me out. I loved Ice Age though, and Finding Nemo.

We have gone through phases of most of the Disney animated films and the Land Before Time series. The most interesting one was that my girls loved Fantasia and Fantasia 2000. (We usually skipped Night on Bald Mountain.)

Right now they (girls 3 and 5) are enthralled with a series of Barbie movies - Rapunzel, Swan Lake, and Nutcracker. BoringMom hates these movies as they maul the original stories something fierce, but hey! They are listening to Tchaikovsky! That can’t be too bad.

I also have noticed the abuse and name calling in some supposedly kid shows as **Cranky** pointed out. Land befor Time series is rife with bad behaviour that is only sometimes “moral of the story”'d away. That’s why I also make sure that I let them watch a fair amount of soft porn so that they can see people being nice to each other.

My daughter went through a Lion King phase when she was about a year old. It lasted FOREVER. She’s also been through phases of constant viewing of The Emperor’s New Groove, Monsters Inc, and Lilo and Stitch. She’s almost 6 now and one of her favorite movies is Grease. I remember seeing that when I was her age, but now I’m not so sure it’s appropriate. I try to keep it out of her reach as much as possible.

My son used to know all the words to the movies Pete’s Dragon and Lady and the Tramp. Oh, and 101 Dalmatians. Disney classics are always good. But he’s 13 now and his favorite movies are more along the lines of Drumline and The Fast and the Furious.

Hmm, I have a boy who’s nearly 4 and a girl who’s 2 1/2. The girl doesn’t seem to care much, though she sometimes requests Barney and Elmo videos (ecchhh.) The boy, however, has amny favorites:

Buzz Lightyear
Toy Story (this and Buzz Lightyear are his obsessions)
The Care Bears movie
Charlotte’s Web
Spirited Away
Peter Pan

He mostly watches cartoons on tv. He loves batman, Spiderman, and Spongebob Squarepants. He wants to grow up to be Johnny Bravo (I don’t think he really gets that show.)
He hates E.T. and refuses to watch anything non-animated, though he did once watch the Wizard of Oz, I suppose the interesting looking characters made up for it.
He and his sister love having the tv on, they can’t live without it, yet they never sit through more than 10 minutes of anything.
