I’m a big fan of ‘beg your pardon?’ or just ‘pardon?’ when you missed what someone said. I hate it when I’m in a formal setting (or any, really) and someone has missed what I’ve said and I’m greeted with a slackjawed ‘What?’ It’s just so curt and rude. It’s not my fault you weren’t listening. ---

Scary thing is that I actually use quite a lot of these little sayings… Does this make me weird??? By the looks I get… perhaps. I just say “I’m American” as my excuse 😉 One of my personal favourites: doing something for _shits and giggles_ A couple that **Kal** uses frequently: Well rub my belly and call me Buddha! and Buddha in a pickup truck! (similar ilk of Christ on a crutch or your choice of phrase) ---

When I was little and in my usual tomboy disarray, my grammie used to tell me that I looked like “Lizzie off the pickle boat.” I have no idea what this means, but my sister and I have started using this expression lately.
