Speaking as members of the nation that brought us the live-action Scooby-Doo, I don’t know that we have a right to criticize. Although it is a little weird to see an Asian Sailor Moon. It’s also kind of weird that it’s weird, if you know what I mean. ---

There is actually a stereotypical way of portraying Americans in anime, which is recognizable by the fact that they _don’t_ look like all the other characters (who are Japanese). ---

Some anime characters and styles look more Japanese than others, but most are too fair-skinned and have rounded eyes. In some animes (Full Metal Panic comes to mind) the Japanese girl looks more like the American guy than the Japanese guy! ---
