> Know what? I’m gonna say it, even if no one else will. To hell with the teacher and his experiment. I like dogs, high school teachers shouldn’t do that kind of thing to dogs. They’re decent creatures that deserve more than that. Yeah, yeah, gonna die anyway, I get it, don’t care. If you really think that way, when YOU’RE about to die, let’s let some High School students have at you, eh?

> Not liking this even a little.

For those who don’t want to be cremated (read: me), I can see a problem. The thing is, though, that if someone’s brain dead, and they don’t want to be hooked up to life support, why not? When I’m dead, I don’t have much of a problem being a med school cadaver.

Re: the idea for death row inmates: Why not ask them? This might at least save them the stress of being strapped into a table and getting to feel their hearts stop beating and such.

Completely serious question now: Where could I find dog or cat meat if I wanted to eat it? There’s not a Chinatown within a 2-hour drive of me, and I’m certainly not going to butcher my own (I wouldn’t butcher my own cow, either, so it’s not a cute/fuzzy issue.)

I can’t believe no one else has said this:

EEWWWWWW!!! GROSS!!!

I never had to dissect anything in high school- we just had to look at various creatures preserved in whatever it is they preserve them in. That was bad enough.

I am reminded why I went into astronomy, and later IT- nothing icky like this in those fields.

Where oh where is that puking smiley?

(Yes, I know, but don’t care, that I am a big wuss)

**Anne**
Good point about astronomy. I’m surprised they don’t stress more of it in school. Each clear night (even in the big city) you can certainly observe something up there in the “celestial sphere”. Astronomy is something you could actually study at home. (Try _that_ with biology or chemistry). And just as an added benefit, if you are ever totally lost, (no GPS, no cell phone), at least you could find the North Star, determine true North, etc.
Sure, having a working knowledge of canine digestion would be _invaluable_ in such a situation  but astronomy has its place too. 😃

A rolleyes and italics do _not_ a witty or helpful statement make.

Lol, As long as it wasn’t smelly, I would be able to handle it, I think. That’s what put me off most about the dissections I’ve had to do - not the fact that I was prodding around inside an animal.

My only interest in animal digestion involves questions like these:

Why is the cat throwing up?

Are tigers from a nearby zoo sneaking in and using our cats’ litterbox, or are such small cats really producing poo _that_ big?

Astronomy rules- there might be gross or smelly things out there (sulfur volcanoes on Io, for example), but we don’t have to touch them or smell them 😛

Actually, I was tending more toward a facetious/sarcastic perspective but your comment has been taken under advisement.

**Anne Neville**
Astronomy does rule !!!
Your comments might make a good “marketing” approach for the subject:
Astronomy - at least it isn’t smelly.

I’m not uppity enough to consider saying someone went to Vo. Tech an insult.

I just didn’t think they were on the internet.

I wouldn’t advise you to continue with this. Despite plain board rules for this forum, you got your shot in. You were warned as a result, and now you should move on to something else.

Should you have further questions and/or comments about your warning, feel free to either e-mail me or start a thread in the **Pit**. But don’t do it here.
