> And again, what several of us have been saying in this thread that your charts don’t account for: the perception is that Rogers Park is safe or not based on the _block_, not the neighborhood. There are some awesome parts of Rogers Park, particularly down closer to Loyola (although then you have the joy of drunk college kids, but they’re not usually dangerous, just annoying). There are some hellhole parts of Rogers Park. It’s like its very own microcosm-city.

The Master addressed precisely this point in [How can I find out what neighborhoods are safe?](http://chicago.straightdope.com/sdc20090409.php) This discusses the CPD’s cool CLEARMap system, mentioned upthread. A drawback of CLEARMap is that police crime reports provide too little detail to get a fix on what’s really going on. This has now been partly remedied by the people at [everyblock.com](http://everyblock.com), who have added a comment feature to their outstanding hyperlocal reporting site that lets people provide details on crime reports. Here for example is what comes up for 1500-1599 Morse, which is near the “L” stop:

You’ll need to scroll down a bit; everyblock aggregates EVERYTHING about the neighborhood currently visible online, which in the case of RP is a lot. You may need to provide an e-mail address to access this page (not sure), but if so it’s well worth it.
