Adults with impairments due to a psychiatric disorder should want to stop the difficulties that they experience because of their disorder, not just excuse them. To the extent that they are working on it, both in terms of treatment and in terms of actually trying to implement strategies for change, they oughta get some props and perhaps a break, in my opinion. If they are a dick about it, are just looking for an out and aren’t trying to change, well, that’s a different story. ---

Had a full-blown, convulsions-bite-through-my-tongue-memory-loss black out on the bus on the way to work. Difference is, people used to be able to get on with their lives without whining about it 24/7 or using their ailments as an excuse not to do what needed to be done to function in society (and yes, I realize there are valid conditions that don’t allow one to function in society, but most problems aren’t that severe, except in the sufferer’s mind). We’re a whole society of overweight pussies. ---
