I live in Bristol, UK, where we have the oldest continuously operating theatre in the English speaking world – the Bristol Old Vic. It is home to a famous theatre school, the alma mater of Daniel Day Lewis, Olivia Colman, Brian Blessed, Miranda Richardson, Patrick Stewart to name but a few. It’s a 15 minute walk from my house. Never been! ---

I live within 2 walking miles of the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Stockman House and Park Inn Hotel. Never been in the Stockman House and only a cursory stop in the lobby of the hotel to grab a brochure for a friend. Oddly I am a fan of FLW and have said for several years “one of these days….” ---

The only real difference is that I’ve spent four decades or more living an hour or so from Buck House, and I’ve never done the tour. (To be fair, I don’t think they did the tour forty years ago). The Eye was OK though. I don’t visit somewhere to dutifully seek out it’s museums. I want to chill and get to know the place.
