Local girl suspended for having condom in backpack

Girls could probably be fertile by age nine, but then would they really be mature enough to use a condom if they did have sex?

Ewww. I wouldn’t go agianst the Pope even if I had a condom on.

I turned 9 in September of 1995. We didn’t get the actual Internet until probably 98 or so, and I didn’t start using it until at least 1999. This was pure schoolyard talk. Trust me, kids learn the basics of sex at a real early age. All it takes is one kid who got ahold of one of Dad’s Playboys or one mom who forgot to put away The Joy of Sex, and suddenly the whole school knows.

I dunno. I was pretty up-front with my parents growing up. I didn’t really hide things from them. Sex was just not talked about to kids, so I got the idea that it was, not dirty, but forbidden, and therefore I shouldn’t let them know I knew about it. Most of my friends felt the same way. I get the feeling this is pretty common; a friend’s seven-year-old just confided in me recently that she knows what sex is.

I’ll chime in and say–being a year younger that tashabot–my experience was pretty much the same.

I’ll take What was the stuff inside the condom you found for $200, Alex.
