# Local paper cites the SDMB

Heh. Just settled down to read the usually weird and odd news that happens around here. The weekly paper.

And then… What? According to whom? Our little paper cites the SDMB?

Ha!

We are doing something right. I think.

How many of us are there, about 50,000?

Well, to be fair, that seems like it’s citing the Dope, not the SDMB. You know, that side gig that Cecil has.

And it’s hard to tell how many active members there are because the counts that one sees include guests, who can’t stick around and contribute for very long.

Nah! About 4,000. We just have an _impact_ that appears to be from 50K. 🙂

Right now, there are 76,167 registered usernames.

That includes many expired guest accounts, banned members, socks and spammers. Far fewer actual active posters.
