I watched it in MacOS X [10.3.8] using Shiira (a Safari variant) as my browser, and the Flip4Mac plugin for playing Windows Media files via QuickTime.

Please, tell me more! WMP is the one piece of Microsoft software on my machines, and I would heartily approve of anything which would let me complete the purge.

The latest version of MPlayer under Fedora Core 4 Linux plays the file just fine. (You need the WMV codec, of course, but that’s available on the same page as the main package.)

There is a version of MPlayer for Windows.

I don’t use MPlayer under Windows so I can’t really help you, but this should more than get you started.

It’s a shareware plugin. You can use QuickTime Media Player (to play downloaded .wmv files) or its associated browser plugin (to play embedded .wmv movies in a browser window).

If you have QT Pro, you can do a Save As and save a .wmv as a .mov file, or a .mpg file. You can also use the “sliders” and copy only part, select and delete a part, make it loop, make it play every frame, all the usual QT Pro stuff.
