Well, upon reading this thread, it seems that while a few women are neutral, or slightly more attracted to short hair, the majority, of at least the ones who are responding, are pretty excited by it. Guess I’ll have to keep mine long…(now if only there was something I could do about that “face” problem…) ---

Satan and MadPoet - you guys are gorgeous!!! Put me down for loving long hair on guys, I have since…since…the Beatles …now I’m dating myself. The only time I really don’t care for long hair on a man is when they’re obviously losing it up on top but they hang onto that long straggly tail in the back. Example: on cable there’s a furniture refinishing show, forgot the name, two middleaged smartass guys, one short and fat, the other tall and thin - the tall one has the long straggly ponytail and he’s always wearing this doo-rag to cover up who knows what. And I always wonder, does he go home to his S.O. and take off the doo-rag and pull the rubber band out of the ponytail …and someone really wants to see this? ---

I had long hair between the ages of 19 and 22. I mean down to my ass, by about 21 or so. Got it cut off when I went looking for a real job. Now I look back and think, it was cool then, but it wouldn’t be cool for me now. I could get away with it as an English teacher, but it just wouldn’t be me anymore. I still bring in an old picture of myself with hair down to here and a joint in my hand (I claim it’s a cigarette if anyone asks) to school just to show the kids I’m studly. This is about three-quarters through the term, after I’ve earned some respect as a hardass. ---

I’m of the opinion that it depends on the guy. My husband looks like a gone to seed dandelion with long hair but looks great with short hair. My cousins and two or three others I know, not to mention Satan, look good with long hair. My brothers look like idiots with long hair. It’s all relative.
