Why not ear pickers?
An old thieves’ trick was to glue a thin sliver of blade under the pinky nail - not for picking locks, but for slitting purse strings and the like with one hand. Wouldn’t surprise me if this also gets used in some magic tricks.
I asked someone about their long pinky fingernail and he said it was helpful for flipping through filing cabinets. He wasn’t a lawyer.
My pinky nails are alwaysss long. Idk why i just like it that way. when i went to Greece a lot of the males in my family had it. But it is related to coke…not for me of course.

Pretty sure I could snort better if my thumb had a huge nail (ergonomically and more clandestine-ly).
I’m pretty sure that in days past (for Chinese and other Asians) it was to dip snuff from a bottle. Here in my country, low lifes grow one thumb nail long and file them sharp for close quarter fighting. Ughh…
