# Long shot:  Any Foley artists out there?

Here’s a real long shot. Are there any Foley artists lurking SDMB? If so, please help.

How can I become a Foley artist? Is it a dying art? Can one make a living playing with creaky doors and buckets of wet towels? Do you get to watch early cuts of movies?

I can’t remember… I’ve seen it done in a documentary before…can’t recall what it was used for… I’m pretty sure it was in an added feature on a DVD, can’t remember for the life of me.

OH WAIT… it may have been the little wormy guys that tried to get Amadala in her sleep in Attack of the Clones… their slithering I think may have been wet towels dragged around the bottom of a metal bucket.

Where do you live? Foley is alive and well…and if you’re in dallas, the Studios of Los colinas has a foley stage as part of their tour.
