# Long Term Bets

I couldn’t think of a good way to phrase this, so apologies if the sub title is misleading. Here’s what I mean:

Have you ever made a bet with someone where you said “I bet by the year such and such X will happen?”

Back in '79 I bet a friend $1000 that pot would be legal by the year 2000. Obviously I was wrong. (Hey, it was a long time ago 🙂 I have since lost contact with this dude but I guess if he tracked me down I would have to pay. (which would suck) Ever done this? And if so, what was the longest amount of time for the bet?

Yes, I remember you making that bet with me. Every since New Years Eve of 1999, I’ve been wondering where you were. How do I find you? I really need the money to take my sick child to the doctor.

Back in 1981 **Cartooniverse** bet me that he would never get a tattoo. Well earlier this month while on vacation he got one. [sub]Ok, so it was henna, but no one said anything about ‘permanent’.[/sub] Now he owes me banana bread, peach jam, a [sub]picture of a[/sub]sculpture, and a full body massage which must be given without ever touching.  
When ya gonna pay up buster?
