At Volcano House, the lodge in Volcanoes Nat’l Park on Hawaii, they claim the fire in their lobby has been burning continuously for over 125 years.

Also notable for having the fireplace with the biggest knockers around! That Pele was STACKED!

We’ve visited Volcanoes National Park. It’s a great place. Although the current eruption of Kilauea is only 24 1/2 years now, it was fascinating to stare into the same toiling mass that Mark Twain himself reported on in his days as a journalist. (I’m a big Mark Twain fan.)
