I was watching the LOTR:FOTR DVD the other day, and I noticed that even discounting the fan club credits, the normal film credits seem fairly long. The Matrix Reloaded seemed to have long credits, but that may have been anticpation of the Revolutions preview making the wait seem long. Anyway, my curiosity was peaked. What movie has the longest credit sequence? ---

It will probably turn out to not even be close, but I’d vote for “It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad world”. It just seems to go on forever and ever… ---

When _Matrix Reloaded_ opened, several articles mentioned that it had the longest credits ever. Can’t swear that this is true, of course, without exact times for the contenders. But no film made until recently could possibly be in the running. You just never, ever saw ten minutes of credits until the digital age. ---

I would be surprised if _The Matrix_ or _Fellowship of the Ring_ - or some sequel thereof - was the winner. According to IMDb, _Who Framed Roger Rabbit_ was the record holder at one point, it’s ver yinvolved animation surely had a lot to do with it. It doesn’t give a length, but I think the credits ran for something like 9 minutes. ---
