Somewhere there has to be a song that spells out S-M-I-L-E-S, which is the longest because … well, you know. ---

The single and video version didn’t have the spelling, but the American album and greatest hits have the crappy “dance remix” version that has the spelling and crappy, did I say crappy yet?, faux-rap of one of the verses. ---

When I first joined my band back in the 80’s, they had this song they loved to sing while out drinking, but I have no idea who the song is by: “I’m full of H-A-T-R-E-D, I’m bitter and malign You’ve got me P-I-S-S-E-D off, I’m angry most of the time Why don’t you G-O T-O H-E-double-L, you tramp, you philandering b—h I’m going to K-I-L-L one of us baby, when I’m sober I’ll decide on which.” Why yes, they were a fairly dysfunctional bunch of guys, how did you know? ---

I once saw a comedy sketch about a man who answers questions with the alphabet. The last part of it went something approximately like: Interviewer: So what did the policeman say to you? Man: ar-es-tee you. Interviewer: and what was your response? Man: Vee (holds up two fingers in a rude British gesture) Interviwer: You’ve done well so far, but I bet you a fiver you cant get to the end. Man : Double you. Inerviewer: okay, ten it is.
