I plan on directing a one or two act comedy for our community theater next season. Any suggestions? ---

If you don’t mind something that’s British and kind of a period piece (it’s from 1962), I always liked Peter Shaffer’s _The Public Eye._ ---

For community theater, you can’t go wrong with Ken Ludwig. **Lend Me a Tenor** , **Moon Over Buffalo** and **Leading Ladies** are all great. ---

How big of a cast can you have? The classic French farces Paradise Hotel or Flea in her Ear by Feydeau are really fun. ---

Be sure to check what plays have been done locally in the last year or two, as these are more likely to have less attendance. (Oh, I saw that one.) If you have access to information as to how the plays did, you can use that as a measure to figure out what kind of plays do well in your area, and choose accordingly.
