# Looking for a Jim Woodring story

Don’t remember where I read the story. It was set in a vaguely Iron or Bronze Age society. The characters were mostly slaves and their overseer. One of the slaves is surly and sarcastic. When the overseer attempts to get scraps of food from the king’s table, he’s threatened with being beaten with iron bars.

Sound familiar to anyone?
