Clearly, everything is **not** on the Internet. I’m looking for a cartoon from, oh, 30 years ago. I’m 99% sure it’s by Kliban. A man is sitting at the counter at a diner, and he is handing a huge wad of bills to the waitress. There’s a plate with what’s left of a piece of pie in front of him. The caption reads: “OK, but if you ask me, $10,000 is a _lot_ for a slice of pie!” I’d like to get a scan of this, if anyone has it in their collection. ---

**Beowulff** , I had some time to kill this afternoon so I googled your cartoon. The closest I came was two Kliban cartoons set in diners: one has the punchline, “We’re out of kosher pickles” and the other’s punchline is, “What did the city of New York do with King Kong?” I expect you saw these, too, in your search, but if either would serve your purpose, I’ll send you links. What did the city of New York do with King Kong?" is one of the best Kliban cartoons. But the all-time funniest is “The callous sophisticates laughed at Judy’s tiny head.” Which always cracks me up for some reason. I’m not a Kliban scholar or anything, but I have been a fan since about 1975. As i said, I’m almost certain it’s Kliban, but it’s been so long, that it could have been an artist with a similar style. But, I really think it was him. Thanks for all the help so far, folks. ---

I definitely remember the pie cartoon. IIRC, it was in _ **Playboy** _ about 30 years ago. Maybe the caption was “… a lot for **pie and coffee** ”? :dubious: 😕 ---
