# Looking for a stock market sim (free)

Hi all,

I’m looking for a free online or downloadable program that will let me choose my starting capital and trade stocks over a set period of time - say 2 weeks, or 6 months - using historical rather than real time data.

Preferably, I’d like to be able to specify the date range, so for that two week test, I could buy and sell at whatever was trading at that point in history.

I need to accumulate some data for a variety of scenarios for a course I’m taking, and this would be the easiest method by far. So I could certainly use a demo version of a product, provided it expires rather than locks out features.

Any recommendations?
