I’m looking for a thread that I talked about recently in a classroom discussion about the role of male figures in child rearing—a Pit thread from about a year or so ago, maybe a year and a half. I’ve tried everything I could possibly think of to find it and have come up completely empty-handed, with nothing to show for my efforts but the ghost of a dead hamster haunting my dreams. The OP was standing in the checkout line of (I think) a supermarket, and either made a ‘goo-goo’ face at an attractive infant or toddler in the cart behind him, or in some other way casually interacted with it. The mother or female caretaker immediately bristled at his actions and accused him of being a pedophile simply by virtue of the fact that he demonstrated a passing interest in a strange child. Ring any bells? ---

I remember that…it was a post in a topic (that was not in the Pit) about others taking posters actions wrong. I seem to recall it was longer than a year ago, though. I remember the poster of that post said the mom said (to him) “She’s too young for you.” ---

That’s not it. It was a similar scenario, but IIRC the OP was Pitting the woman, and the incident was specifically the topic of the thread. Thanks, though—I’ll keep torturing the hamsters until I’m forced to pay for their crystal meth rehab program. ---
