I had my unit installed today. The installer really liked it, and said it seemed like a well-built, quality product. They didn’t have any issues with the installation. So far it’s amazingly quiet, and the rooms seem much more uniformly cool than they did with the window A/C.
My unit is an 18K BTU, 22.5 SEER dual head system with a 7 year warrenty. Between the unit and installation, it was just under $3000. At $1450 for the system, I’m tempted to buy a second one. I don’t need to heat and cool the other half of my house at this point, but some day I might want to. I think I’ll see how this one works for a couple months and then make that decision.
