# Looking for free tabletop wargames

Some friends and I have recently decided that _Warhammer_ sounds interesting, but none of us have the money or artistic ability to really do that particular system justice. As such, I was wondering if anyone here has had good experiences with a free tabletop system? [Kry-Gothic](http://bluwiki.com/go/Kry-Gothic_(the_open_source_table_top_wargame)) seems to be promising, but I’d like to hear if more experienced wargamers have had good luck with another system.

You could have a go at a few of Games Workshop’s Specialist Games. The rules are all available for free now, and you could just use tokens if you can’t afford the miniatures.

This is almost exactly what I was looking for; thanks! Looks like we’re in for a painted index card version of Battlefleet Gothic tomorrow night. 😃
