# Looking for interconnected films

I got an obscure one for ya. The films “Sleeping Dogs,” “Fatal Conflict,” Chained Heat 3: Rage of Angels" (all by Lloyd Simandl) and another film called “Chained Heat” something all feature the same sequences of babes wearing really cool futuristic chastity belts, collars and gags controlled by electronic locks, and little else. In the Chained Heat films, nothing else, actually. They’re the most striking images in each film, all of which are total stinkers. Kari Wuhrer was in “Fatal Conflict” but she’s doing better things now. What things? I dunno. I’m just sure they’re better.

In _The Rules of Attraction_, James van der Beek plays the brother of the title character in _American Psycho_, in essentially a completely different story (in one scence IIRC he is talking to his brother on the phone, though Christian Bale is neither seen nor heard). There is also a new movie coming out, next year I believe, entitled _Glamorama_, which takes place in the same universe. These are all based on Bret Easton Ellis novels. However, I have read none of the books, and of the movies, have only seen about 3/4 of _Rules_ and none of _American Psycho_.
Also, the David E. Kelley TV shows _The Practice_, _Ally McBeal_, and _Boston Public_ all take place in the same Boston, and have all done crossover shows with each other.

I could be remembering wrong, but I seem to recall _Hunt For Red October_, _Patriot Games_, and some other movie I can’t recall the name of, being about the same character (played by Alec Baldwin in _HFRO_ and Harrison Ford in _PG_, and one of those two (I think?), not sure which, in the other movie with the name I can’t remember). The character was… I wanna say Jack Ryan? But I could be totally wrong. I could be completely wrong about all of this. I could look it up but I’m lazy.
And I never saw _Kiss The Girls_ or _Along Came a Spider_, but I read the books. Both by James Patterson, thus explaining the connection. Good books.

Oh and as far as TV goes, I believe _The Golden Girls_ and _Empty Nest_, and maybe another show (?) were all set in the same Miami, and the characters actually lived pretty near to eachother. I remember a show where there was hurricane with alot of crossover stuff.

Jack Ryan also appears in \* Clear and Present Danger \* and _Sum of All Fears_ (played by Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck, respectively). He’s the main protagonist in most of Tom Clancy’s fiction, hence the recurring appearances.

I think Michael Richards appeared as Kramer on an episode of _Mad About You_, where it’s revealed that he leases his apartment from Paul Riser’s character.
I believe that _The Jerk_ and _Caddyshack_ franchises are related. Jackie Mason appears to be playing the same person in the first _Jerk_ and the second _Caddyshack_.

“Murphy Brown” and “Love & War” took place in the same universe. I remember a story line that involved a famous person (an astronaut, if memory serves) who was suspected of murder and involved in a car chase with the police (it was based on the O. J. Simpson case, of course). As I recall, “Love & War” aired right after “Murphy Brown” and the episodes of both shows that week dealt with the characters’ reactions to the car chase, which was being broadcast on TV.

There is alot more than just Jay and Silent Bob being in them, other characters from each movies are also present as well as references to things in the other movies.

There were a few moments in Kill Bill that connected it to the rest of the Quentin Tarantino “universe”:
In Kill Bill, The Bride (Uma Thurman) walked by a billboard for Red Apple cigarettes in the Tokyo airport, the same fictional brand smoked by Butch (Bruce Willis) in Pulp Fiction.
The Texas sheriff who investigated the nine murders in El Paso, Texas in Kill Bill (played by Michael Parks, I believe) played the same role in From Dusk Til Dawn, written by Tarantino and directed by his friend Robert Rodriguez.
