I went to a website sometime last year, that I believe was linked in one of the threads here, which contained multiple thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of images in its database of various locations, attractions, and buildings. Selecting, say, a famous building, would bring you to an image of it stitched together from various photos taken by various photographers. The effect is that every externally visible aspect of the building could be seen from any angle.

Does anyone know what I’m talking about and can provide the URL?

Photosynth? I remember reading about the idea [here](http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/groups/ivm/phototours/), and apparently it has turned into [this](http://photosynth.net/default.aspx). There is a [TED talk](http://www.ted.com/talks/blaise_aguera_y_arcas_demos_photosynth.html)as well, which is pretty cool.

Yep, that’s it! Thanks!
