You can also wait until the technology comes down in price enough to make it more viable. Maybe even start skimping a bit, since people to like it more for the story.

Then again, would people like it as an anime?

To explain the joke: anime were for a long time attempts at making animation really really cheap.

As long as I can see the episode with Ray Wise at its normally scheduled time. I remember that while I loved watching Firefly, I missed a couple of shows due to Fox changing its schedule with little notice. I finally saw the episodes I missed during a marathon on the SciFi (before Syfy) channel a while back.
