Didn’t you say you were 18? Isn’t that the minimum age to even get a \*student \*driver’s license in the UK, handicap or nae? ---

As a Scottish doper, I’ve been following this with interest. I think what we may have here is a fairly naive lassie who familiarised herself with the board and decided to have a laugh. Jaymac, some of the stuff you say sounds genuine. The casual reference to Hollyoaks; the familiarity with Rutherglen - even the typed dialect doesn’t seem too “off” to me. But every now and again something really jars. The Sixth Form college. The claim you have “school work” to do - in Scotland in mid July. You naming a time and a place to meet up and failing to show. But the real kicker for me is the full name you have chosen to share. I cannot find one instance of that surname existing. If you genuinely want to stop us being “horrible” to you, you can fix this so easily. You’ve already shared your full name, age, and your accident. Did it make a newspaper? Can you link to it? Anything about you online - have you done a wheelchair 5K, or similar charity work that has been covered in local press? When Ambivalid started posting here he got a bit of a roasting, but once he toned down his one-man crusade regarding handicapped parking and aisle chairs on planes, he discovered we’re not that bad a bunch. Maybe you will too. ---

As I said earlier, I had this feeling when she asked about posting a picture of her wheelchair that she was just going to post a picture of _a_ wheelchair. How about a picture of your chair (or you in the chair) with a sign that says SDMB? Post it to Imgur or photobucket or something, no big deal, it’s easy. Even better, post a picture of a paper that says SDMB on your steering wheel with the hand controls. Eitherway, you keep thinking that _saying_ things is the same as having proof. I say, pics or it didn’t happen. ---
