I could see Daffy in the story of Job. It would be like that one where the animator kept messing with Daffy and drawing strang body parts and such on him. Of course we pull back and see God say

“Aint I a stinker?”

I guess Taz, Yosemite Sam, Marvin and the Big Monster would be the four horsemen.

Marvin plays the fire and brimstone God.

Who else sits up in the sky and keeps a constant watch on the earthlings, and finds our actions annoying–particularly when we block His view of Venus. And like all misguided children, we have to be punished. Just think of all the appropriate quotes:

> [@](#):
>
> Oh, I’m going to blow it up.

Sodom, Gommorah, Jericho, etc.

> [@](#):
>
> Oh dear, now I suppose I shall have to use force.

Numerous places.

> [@](#):
>
> Oh dear, now I shall have to create more martians.

Replace martians with prophets. They kept dying on him.

> [@](#):
>
> K9 do you suppose all earth creatures behave like thataway.

This said right before the big flood.

> [@](#):
>
> You have made me very angry very angry indeed.

See just about every person and place in the OT at one time or another.

> [@](#):
>
> Where’s the Kaboom? There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering Kaboom.

Numerous occasions.

> [@](#):
>
> Gee Wiz That silly place irritates me so.

Earth and its inhabitants again.

> [@](#):
>
> Brace yourself for immediate disintegration.

Lot’s wife?

> [@](#):
>
> The Earth? Oh the Earth will be gone in just a few seconds.

Revelations.

> [@](#):
>
> That wasn’t a bit nice.

Numerous places.

> [@](#):
>
> This insignificant planetoid has been found guilty of crimes against the universe.

Revelations.

> [@](#):
>
> At last, after 2000 years of work…

Aren’t all the significant events supposed to occur every 2000 years or so according to some biblical timelines?

Well, according to Usher the world started in 4004 BC which does lend itself to a two thousand or four thousand year cycle. I can’t think of anything that happened in 2004 BC but there’s a bit of leeway in pinpointing the birth of Christ which allows for 4 BC there.

I suppose I should contribute something…

Elmer Fudd as Saul of Tarsis (“Be wery, wery quiet. I’m hunting Chwistians. Eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh.”)

And for some variation, Pepe Le Pu as David in the Bathsheba story. ("God says “No, no”; but your eyes say “Yes, yes!”

The Tasmainian Devil could be that guy that Jesus brought back from the dead.

“Why for you bury me in the cold, cold ground?”

Yes, but Daffy has to continuously try to sell him insurance against further calamities!

Best Taz quote evarr.

Pity he wasn’t a little more verbose; that one would’ve worked well for Jesus’ resurrection scene, but he couldn’t carry off the rest of the story.

Except the loaves and fishes thing.

{Scene: Taz holding basket of loaves and fishes; does full-on spinning, spitting freakout, entire audience is showered with bits of shredded bread & fish}

> 1. Remember the story where Peter sees Jesus walking on the water? Peter tries to do it to, and he IS walking on the water… until he looks down and REALIZES he’s walking on water, and then sinks. That is right out of a Warner Brothers cartoon- how many times did Elmer FUdd, Yosemite Sam or WIle E. COyote step off a cliff, and walk for about 20 paces, before looking down, realizing there was no ground, and then plummeting?
>
> So… I’ll nominate Yosemite Sam as St. Peter.

I completely agree. I can just picture it now:

“I dare ya’s to cross this line!”
“Oh yeah?!”
And also, I think the story of Shadrac, Meshac, and Abendago being thrown in the furnace and surviving should be slightly modified and done with Bugs, Mugsy, his partner (forgot the name), and the policeman \<as the King’s servant\>.

Bugs: “If there really isn’t a God, would I do this?” _throws Shadrac and Abendago in the oven_

Policeman:“You might, Meshac, you might!”

“Well would I do this?!” _turns oven all the way up and lights a match_

(etc…)

Almost makes me wish I’d read the Bible. I can’t make heads or tails of this thread!

I said almost. I prefer the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy where fantasy is concerned. The guy who was supposed to teach me about ‘classic literary sources’ (literal translation of the subject) disagreed, rather violently. Before that class, I just never got round to it, being a heathen and all that. Now it has become a matter of principle 😉

So can I submit Marvin The Paranoid Android as that guy who split the red sea?

“Splitting the sea? Is that all? Here I am, brain the size of a planet and you’re asking me to split the sea? And all my diodes are aching, but I suppose nobody cares. Nobody ever does.”

Somehow, on reading the OP, Bugs Bunny as Christ seemed obvious.

Of course P-P-Porky Pig should be Mo-Mo-Moses.

Sure, they’re not looney tunes, but the Warner Brothers (and sister) would make pretty interesting wise men. They could come to bring the baby Jesus their gifts, make “Hello Nurse” type jokes at Mary, and then Joseph could chase them around the manger… Alternatively, Bugs could show up with Daffy and Porky at the manger… “I told you, we should have turned left at Albequerque!(sp?)” And then, Hilarity will ensue.
